Thanks for your comment but until I get a definate answer either way, how can we sit back and enjoy the potential purchase? All I'm asking for is something official confirming or denying it.

I'm sure they are very nice people and that it will all come out in the wash so to speak but at the end of the day, being nice doesn't guarantee the safety of my hard earned money..

Default Calm down

Hi Simpywimpy i dont mean to be rude but i think you should just do what you feel is right for you. All this worrying is not good for you it seems perfectly clear to me, and i should make it plain that i do know Andy and Allison on a business and social level. Again it is very plain that some disgruntled ex-employee, or partner is spreading nasty lies whilst hiding behind the safe anonymity of a hotmail address i wish they had the backbone and the decency to stand up and say these vile and hurtfull things to my friends faces.

With respect it's not just the blogspot or the email, a lot of other people are coming out with concerns. I appreciate you are defending your friends but I am defending my money.

My mother recently died and left me the money for my apartment. I'm not some big investor with lots of money and can afford to lose a bit.

Anyway, I received a message for everyone's benefit on here (which shows I am not just one sided) from Andy Harris which I found helpful and have posted it where appropriate:

You can talk to Philip Morris in the Uk who acts for a lot of buyers on the beach his number is 0044 1562 861 989 or mobile 0044 7866528583 he has done his independant checks, you can also talk to one of my legal team Hossam who is an ex police officer with many contacts who has also made checks on my behalf on 002 018 328 8328 he has many contacts in Hurghada and actually introduced me to one of the Police Captains here Mohame Tawfik who purchased apt no. 307 in Regency Towers and is completely Happy, if this is not enough I will invite anyone who wishes to visit me in Hurghada free accommodation and a tour of our resorts and offices as well as an accompanied visit to the police station and court house to check for any police reports or investigations against me. I am a proffessional man who has dealt in the property business for many years we sell 60 - 100 units per month and produce an excellent end of line product that represents value for money. Basically it anoys other local developers that I am doing a better job in their country, you will notice I do not hide behind a hotmail or false log in name
Regards

Andy Harris

I am pleased Andy has wrote the above statement as feel that it would put quite a few peoples minds at ease.

I can understand your worry but the person that wrote this information in the first place did not provide any evidence of his claim.

Getting information from Egypt is hard at the best of times (verbally), asking for a written statement from the authorities you will be waiting a long time.

I did ask the solicitor to look into this and clarify matters and I am sure that if their was any truth in it we all would have heard something by now.

I hope this puts your mind at ease.

What will put my mind at some ease is knowing the reason for the disqualification, bankrupcy wouldnt put me off, everyone has bad luck some more than others i'd actually have great respect for a guy who picked himself up dusted himself off and started again, but the reason thats plain to see in black and white is it was due to his company being investigated, investigation about what? If anyone has received a reply to this question please pm me I'd be grateful.

Hi Coco
I think you've hit the nail on the head. Bankrupcy in itself also doesn't worry me significantly as one takes risks and sometimes gets burnt. However the reason for disqualification would be relevant to know if people are to fully regain trust in the Regency brand.
Likewise any further info would be greatly appreciated by PM.

Question Phw

Iam still hanging on to the sale but still don't have something concrete to go on from the Egyption authorties(local police) to suggest that what we have heard from all these sources on this forum or other is not true.
Therfore this will just drag on for a while until we have hard evidence from the Egyption side to suggest its true or otherwise.
I live in the U.K but if I was in Hurghada I woulld know what to do there,so if we want to get to the bottom of this we need that statment from the police to deny all these allegations against PHW,anything that fall short of that will make our investment in the Regency brand not worth all this hassle at least for me,After all we all buyers r protecting our monies from any nasty surprises and especially most of us live thousands of miles away from Hurghada. It is nothing personal against Mr.Andy Harris for all i know he could be a very nice person, its purely business and money can run away quickly when it smells something.

Andy did post a reply on another thread concerning this and that if people wanted to check they can contact the autorities and the numbers provided.

I am sure that the lawyers would advise us if there was any truth in this and therefore from my own opinion see it as nothing but a load of rumours to give buyers itchy feet.

I like you am a buyer, I have purchased in Regency Towers and their really is nothing to substaniate the claim and no article in the papers etc to say otherwise.

As for bankrupcty/Disqualification this can be down to a number of reasons and having run my own company can not see that this should have any affect on our purchases providing we all follow the correct channels.

I get the impression that people are playing on the fact that a business venture failed in the UK and that this somewhat implicates him.

I suppose at the end of the day it comes down to whether people wish to proceed or not and he has said that the reservation fee would be refunded for those that were not happy etc...

I have had issues with PHW in the past as they do not keep people well informed of which I have personally discussed with Andy/Alison and to be honest from hearing overall this seems to be Egypt. They did I feel however take it on board and for a small team it is no wonder that our emails do not get replied to as we would like but this is what probably keeps the cost of our investments down.
