Default Wsv

Hi all ,
I have just recieved a reply from WSV.
" to the best of my knowledge the health and fitness centre is still being built , if there is any charge for access to the Marlin Inn Beach , then that is the developers decision, however any possible charge would be minimal at that"
Not sure what to make of that ?!
I for one dont really want to sign any final contracts until i know for sure what is being built here .
To me a five star resort must have 5 star facilities.
Any other comments ?

Just had a note from wsv - the furniture pack at this early stage is estimated to be between £3,800 and £8k the £8k i'm assuming is for the 3 bed penthouses. I've got a 1 bed studio so I reckon around £5k on the furniture pack, not ideal that the kitchen is part of that but i expected to shell out 3 or 4 grand on furntiure pack as did most people here i'm guessing so its not a total disaster - the developers are reputable and i'm sure they'll produce a good product for us all! ...I hope

Anyone else got any further info??

Its a bit dissapointing about the kitchen i know . Also there is no gaurantee about the fitness and beauty complex . This is in the planning application but like i say no gaurantee!
I just hope that there is no other surprises in store . I still cant get a firm answer as to what the furniture pack consists of ? This worries me a little.
It was also getting a bit worrying that this forum had went a bit quiet !

I had a lengthy talk with West Side today regarding various issues. They said that the kitchen that was offered was not up to their standards so they decided not to have it and get one that came upto European standards instead. I asked to have the original kitchen as this would mean my furniture pack would be less and was told it was not an option as I was never charged for the kitchen anyway. I asked why their website still advertises the kitchen without stating it cost extra only to be told that the wording says " Its available" I have now noticed that they have removed this from their website after my call today but I have copied the page and downloaded their brochure already as I am not satisfied with this answer. They also said that the fitted wardrobes are now also part of the furniture pack. Then I queried the plans as the square footage quoted does not add up to each of the room measurements I was told that the room measurements are not accurate but the sqm quoted is right. Also on the plans I queried why I have an outline of the fitted kitchen units if they are not included. They said it was to show where the kitchen was to go. I then pointed out that the bathroom had its fittings on the plans and this clearly shows me what I should be getting so why have the kitchen units on the plan if the are not included as they dont have a bed in the bedroom to show where the bedroom is. I believe they should honour what they have sold and own up to getting it wrong. They did admit that the website and leaflets where not right when this was first launched as they had limited information to go on but they should take responsibility for their mistakes. I also queried the beach access and was told they have no idea if there would be a charge or not. Also, the gym complex was in the original planning application and is on track to go ahead but will be one of the last parts of the build to be done, there will be a charge for this and possibly the tennis courts as well. I am unsure about signing my final plans as I have no idea what I will end up with....

Hi Lyn and welcome to the forum. I've lately begun to wonder how many developments are actually trouble free - even almost would be nice! Time after time the developer makes promises to get purchasers on board then renages on the promises. I know this is not the case for all developments but it appears to be the norm rather than the exception. Please keep us up to date with your negotiations and best of luck.

Best wishes

Linda

Hi Lyn,
Just wondered how you are getting on with your purchase at WSV .
I was offered a refund as I felt what I was buying wasn't what was advertised .However they have now said they will not be returning my deposit and that the refund was only a gesture of goodwill at the time !

I find this a little suprising! I bought in march, visited the site in april and visited the site during my holiday just last week. the construction has come on leaps and bounds since my first visit and i was very impressed on how far construction has come along. The ground work is in place for 5 buildings which isnt this a quater of the project? The first building was up to the first floor and another building wasnt too far away from this. There was a load of equipment and lots of work being down while i was on site.

Are you sure you actually visted WSV?

Despite what some people have said on this forum i persoanlly have not recieved any problems and have no compliants what so ever, and remain as confident in WSV as i did when i intially purchased.

We are still in dispute over the false information advertised by WSV and have had an independent solicitor look over the documentation, he believes this to be "misleading and illegal". We have sent a mail to West Side stating his findings and got the following reply:-

"Much of the information is supplied to us by third parties and whilst ever endeavor is taken to check the accuracy of this information we can only confirm the following for obvious reasons, therefore - the references in our literature are covered by legal notices, copyright and all rights reserved as… Important notice: The contents do not form part of any contract, although every care has been taken to ensure the accuracy of all the information given and as such should be treated as a guide only. Furthermore I understand the specification supplied by the developer forms part of your contract which again I assume you had when you signed and returned your purchase contracts.

I believe West Side Village has acted professionally as the Sales & Marketing Company for this project"

We now have a direct line to the developer and will be passing all our concerns on to him directy - I'm sure he will be thrilled. I will post any further comments / feedback as soon as we have contacted him.

Hi Lyn ,

Can you send me a message in private as I would like to exchange e-mail addresses with you.
I am still very unhappy with WSV and have pulled out losing my Deposit and £850.00 of my fee to A.Sneddon and I had not even signed my contracts .
