Hello Kevin,

Lyn won't be able to send you a PM or her you until she become an 'active member'. In other words she needs to have made about half a dozen posts.

Very sorry to hear about your troubles with WSV. I'm in the same boat as you but on another development. Same solictor though.

Best wishes
Linda

Hi,
We had problems with AS when we first purchased at Westside as the fees were quoted to be £1000 but when it came down to it it is actually much more money and we also felt like they weren't acting in our best interest. Every discrepency we had with the contracts they seemed to have an answer for in favour of the developer putting much of the blame on Westside Village Ltd for incorrectly marketing the development. The arguements over the fitted kitchen, fitted wardrobes, air conditioning and now health and beauty spa!!

We have just received our final contracts even though we exchanged contracts (draft ones) back in May. The more I read and learn about the development the more worried I am becoming with its ability to deliver the promised results. Our first payment is due in September and I am seriuosly considering walking away from the whole thing and teaching myself a huge lesson!! Lose 40% now or 100% down the line???

tinkerbell if you haven't paid the 40% yet, then don't if you are not happy. If they have misled you or offered sevices that aren't available i feel you stand a good chance of walking away and maybe just losing your reservation fee.

There is an awful lot of this going on and they seem to involve the same solicitors, your agent should be your first contact and get them to fight it for you (although may not be too keen as they lose a sale). I think if there are enough of you join forces and fight back.

Hi Neil,

We paid the 40% and exchanged back in May! I was unhappy with the solicitors at the time and wanted to use a different one ( tried to get Ziead) but the agents made it quite difficult for us. It was our first overseas purchase and my partner back then was unhappy to 'rock the boat' so to speak! So I gave in and went AS thinking it would be less comlpicated.

Its a shame because we really did our homework and Westside looked like an excellent development. I understand the earlier you get in the more teething problems you are likely to experience but mostly the answers we have received have been in favour of the developer.

It difficult posting your problems on here because you are always concerned that you might shoot your own development in the foot so to speak!!

Perhaps ask Red Angel who recommended Seddons over zeiad to anyone and everyone when he was purchasing in Hania - he has now pulled out of Hania, even though he was using the wonderful Seddons.

oops sorry for the sarcasm!!

Unfortunately buying a property in Egypt isn't straightforward and the reasons that Red had for using Seddons rather than Zeiad and for pulling out of Hania, were all sound ones.
