Moving to Egypt - Practical advice please

Hi

I am moving to Egypt on 22 May 2008 and have a rented apartment booked for £70 pm - initially I will be in Sharm El Sheikh

Maybe i'll get a chance to meet some of ya

Can any body advise, as a single man, roughly the cost of living for food and any other expenses that may arise

I also want to find out the following and any help would be greatly appreciated

What is the situation with Medical / Dental treatment?

How could I get a driving licence?

If I am banned in the UK would I be banned in Egypt?

What is the situation re driving a motor bike - same licence? How much to buy one?

How safe is buying off plan - any experiences, recommendations

Where eventually Sharm, Hurghada, Dahab, Marsa Alam ??????

Hi and welcome to the forum. Exciting times ahead for you then - like several other members you're not just purchasing for investment or holidays but starting a whole new life in Egypt.

I'll leave this one until you've had time to read it through yourself then I'll delete it and the third as they've already been covered elsewhere. Anyway, it's great to see you on the forum and I hope that you'll find it as helpful as I have. It was because of the information here, that we decided to buy in Egypt and to chose the development that we did.
