Hi Julie

Welcome - I'm a UK developer with a small block of apartments in Hurghada.

my partner lives in Hurghada and he's always keen to help with local contacts etc.

Lots to read on the forum - have you tried using the "search" function yet enter key words - you should be able to use it to find "stuff" thats been covered before.

Hi!
I am 50, married and living in the midlands. I have 2 sons and a daughter - all of whom have moved back down South. We love Egypt - my husband is a very keen diver (say no more!) and I am a sun worshipper. We have just decided to invest in a property off-plan at the Marsa Alam Beach Resort. It looks to be a good opportunity to get in to an up-and-coming area which offers good diving (vitally important!). We already own a studio apartment in Winter Park, Colorado which caters for our other passion - skiing!!

Default sharm el sheikh

Hi were both 46 with two girls 17/20 - we have bought of plan in nabq bay
and all love egypt.
just wondered if anyone has some veiws over the prospects in sharm due to the 99 year lease.
we just want a small holiday flat with sunshine and feel its ideal.
just a little concerned over the comments "worried about 99 year lease"
Still in deposit only stage so would welcome some veiws and comments.
1st stage payment this month.
Friends have alraedy bought in Sharm - so we never felt any envisaged problems
the 99 year lease is staed as resets with sale or inheritance and 99 lease restarts at this point?
Are wemissing something?
Thanks in advance for any help.

hi

welcome and congrats on your purchase... i am not sure how the freehold works in hurghada or how leasehold works in sharm.. i thought that freehold meant land also .. there are many who can help you out on here!! having been to both hurghada and sharm personally i prefer hurghada due to its size and more extensive facilities.

what exactly have you bought and what drew you to egypt apart from yearround sunshine??
