Welcome to the forum and for telling us a little bit more about yourself. As you will have seen from other posts people buy for different reasons and at different stages of their lives. However, to me, one very strong point comes through; the fact that an increasing number of people are getting fed up with life in mainstream Europe and are prepared to try something different. More than that, they have the guts to do something about it! It takes real courage to uproot from family and friends and start a new life 3000 miles away in a country with a different culture. But looking at Hurghada today its not difficult to see what it will become in just a very short time, offering all of us the opportunity for early stage investment and the potential for a new and exciting future in a completely different environment away from state intervention, intolerable taxes, cold weather and gloomy skies!

Hi, my name is Chris, I'm 34, single and live in Birmingham. I work in the NHS and have done so for the past 15 or so years. I work in a busy purchasing department of a local hospital. One of the main reasons for my interest in Eqypt apart from my love of historic sites is the fact that Eqypt seems to be very good value for money.

The other main reason is that my parents who are both in their mid 50's but very young at heart don't really go anywhere for a holiday and I'd like to give them the use of a holiday home that they could use as they get older.

I'd really like a place in the South of France or Spain but I'm yet to be persuaded by Eqypt. I don't know what my long term plans are, if Eqypt truly is magical then who knows.

I've just reserved a middle 2 bed appartment in the new Marsa Alam Beach Resort so I hope I can raise the necessary finance to go ahead to the end!!!

Hi Iant and Chriscross and welcome to the forum.

We have an extensive forum base packed with friendly and helpful members.
Any questions you have please feel free to post in an exisiting thread or start a new one ( if there is not an exisiting thread that relates to your query ).

There is alot of useful info in the lounge area as well. We have been going to Egypt for the last couple of years and have got well and truly hooked.
Our youngest will be 15 this year and she loves it. The country is so diverse, you can be snorkelling in the redsea one day and the next walking around the wonders of ancient Egypt.

Good luck with your investments ( although you dont need it ) and heres to many a happy holiday!!!!!

Regards

Alison

Hello iant and welcome. Like you I took ages to make my first post and like you I've not always come across in the way that I meant to. Don't worry about it - we've all done it - and it's easy to explain what you meant by writing another post. I've found a well placed smilie usually does the trick.

Hi Chriscross and thanks for introducing yourself. I think you'll find that this forum will go a long way in persuading you about Egypt. After we bought in Dubai we weren't sure where to go next but quite honestly the level of information here is such that we became confident that Egypt was that place! I don't think you'll regret making your reservation - we certainly haven't.

Hi, My name is Claire, i'm 30 years old and live in Kent with boyfriend, I have worked in the travel industry for 12 years. My work including long haul cabin crew has luckily enabled me to travel to many wonderful and exotic places around the world. Having no children yet we try to holiday as much as we can and aim to evetually move away from the rat race in the UK! My parents and friends have property abroad and i really wanted to jump on the band wagon and own my own "bolt hole" outside of the uk.
So one day, whilst shopping on the internet, (as us women do) I came accross The Desert Pearl 2 development. Having been to sharm before and loved it and knowing how popular the red sea was becoming with toursits i could not resist the competitive prices for a studio. So, without going out there, i trusted my gut instinct and brought it there and then. To this day i still havent been out there and cannot stress enough how informative this forum has been to me. I now realise i was taking a major risk but by going on all what i've read on here i'm so glad i took the chance.
