Default my turn to say hello to everyone

hello everyone!

I'm Ross Antony Donaldson, 36 years old, born Jersey, Channel Isles. I was educated at St Georges school which was in an old country manor house in St Peter's and then aged 12 I was sent to Victoria College. After spending my formative years in Jersey I started to want to see a bit of the outside world, and as luck would have it my father, a developer, and mother, an estate agent moved to Mallorca.

Apart from some time out attending Alicante University, and the odd sojourn back home in Jersey, I lived in Mallorca for most of my adult life. I left there about 5 years ago now, and I have to say my spanish is fading fast.

I love travelling and photography. I have been lucky to have visited some wonderful places, like Kenya, Tanzania, Tunisia, Goa, Thailand, Turkey, Morocco, USA, Western Europe...

On Valentines day, 5 years ago, my ex-girlfreind Michelle called me up, and she told me she was living near Bath in Wiltshire. I begged her to let me come and visit, and luckily, she accepted. We soon moved back in together, and have been going strong ever since. We have managed to get a lovely house together in Corsham, Wiltshire and also we have a house being built on Vista Hermosa, Esuri, Costa de la Luz. This will hopefully be finished about the end of this year.

Michelle is presently studying to be a massage therapist, and is in the UK at the moment. She spent the last 4 months down in Hurghada with me, so right now, Im missing her badly.

I'm living in Esplanada Residence, Village Road, Hurghada. We have a private beach, pool, beach, spa etc...I have the odd resale if anyone wants something ready. Its very popular due to its central location. I moved out at the beginning of the year. I have been involved in the real estate market for Hughada for quite a few years now..

When Hurghada and Sahl Hasheesh are more finished this place will be amazing. At the moment we are only on the first steps of a long journey.

Hi Everyone,

My wife and I have reserved an appartment on the Veranda resort. This is all completely new to us so would be interested to hear from anyone else who has chosen Veranda as well. Also keen to have recommendations on an English/Arabic speaking lawyer familiar with Sahl Hasheesh.

We've been to Hurghada on holiday the last two years and will be returning in January for a holiday in El Gouna (and hopefully to see how Veranda is getting on).

We live in Jersey in the Channel Islands and chose Egypt as a place to spend the long winter months in the future.

Hello Marcel and Jayne, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase. Is this your first time buying property abroad? It's exciting and nerve wracking at the same time, isn't it? I hope that you'll fiind lots of help and information on the forum. Everyone here is extremely friendly and if you have any questions just ask

You could have a look at this thread to check out our 'resident' lawyer Zeiad:

Although he is based in Sharm many of our members buying in Hurghada, are using his services.

Best wishes

Linda

Hi Linda,

Nerve wracking is an understatement. We've just had first sight of the sales contract hence why we were wondering about lawyers. I have read that some haven't bothered with legal representation for this stage because it's unlikely that there's much room for negotiation. Hey it's only money eh !

Hi All
Keep meaning to introduce myself but get sidetracked reading new posts! I think I am developing an addiction (I no longer moan at my son for the amount of time he spends on MSM/Facebook etc). Do you think there will be a FA (Forum Anonymous) Group in the future? Anyway I digress, my name is Annette ,I am 48 and am presently employed as a Manager in the NHS. I have been married to Stuart for 28 years and we have one son who is 19 , we live in Yarm in the North East of England and have an eccentric Border Collie called Becks . I have always felt 'drawn' to Egypt for some reason and funnily enough our son is the same . Have visited once but havent had the chance since. Trying my hardest to get to Hurghada to look at some developments and 'take the plunge' with the vision of having a 'bolthole' light years away from the 'rat race'.
