We certainly do! Luckily my husband leaves the buying side of it to me - probably so that he can blame me if it all goes wrong

Welcome to the forum Shelley - anything I can help you with just give me a shout.

Best wishes

Linda

Hi Shelley,

Welcome to the forum, at the end of the day we have to do what we feel is right for us at the time. Sometimes, things don't turn out as we hoped/expected but many times they turn out better than we could have imagined. Up 'til now, the latter has usually happened to 'somebody else'. Now we've taken the plunge and are optimistic that our turn will come. At the moment flights to Hurghada are very expensive in comparison to Sharm el Sheikh and a lot of other holiday destinations. We have to remember, Hurghada and the surrounding area is still in the early stages of development. Over the next year or two, as more developments are completed, it is likely that people will become curious and want a change of holiday destination, this should result in more flights to Hurghada and at cheaper prices. Lets not forget Egypt is steeped with history and culture which will never be lost, the added bonus is year round sunshine, beautiful beaches and the bluest sea. With half the flight time from the UK than the Caribbean holiday resorts, Egypt could soon become the number one holiday destination of the future.

Keep looking Shelley, your pot of gold awaits you

We run our own business & consequently get very few holidays really. We've dipped a toe into the BTL market in UK & I think we should spread our wings & go global now!
We haven't bought as yet, though considered a few places & especially Egypt. We visited Sharm on our annual hol for the last 2 years & I've been to Luxor & Cairo, but never Hurghada area. Egyptian people are really lovely & we've made quite a few friends that we keep in touch with.
Theres an ongoing debate in our house about the potential of Egyptian property market. Will there be more apartments than visitors, who will buy when we sell etc etc. I've almost had him parting with his money a couple of times..... most recently the talk of flight costs & downturn in number has put him off. Like I say we don't get enough time off to warrant buying for pure pleasure! Personally I think we're missing out, but I have to get him totally on side before we commit.
Personally I'd love a bolthole in the sun. I can just see myself waving byebye & leaving him slogging away in the rain....
So watch this space.................... we ladies have our ways you know!

Welcome on Board Shelly and I hope you enjoy our little online family, just to know Sharm is 99 years lease hold, and hurghada is free Hold the property is registered under your name, prices in sharm at least 20% more than hurghada, so may be you have to visit hurghada and see before you decide

Hi all

My name is Allan and I have only just stumbled across this site.
I am married to Karen and we have 2 grown up children. We live in Liverpool.
We have purchased an apartment in the Oasis Resort, A40, and we are delighted to hear all the good comments regarding the development.
Hopefully I will be able to offer some interesting comments myself in the future.

Regards

Allan

Hi Allan,

It's very quiet tonight on the forum and although I'm just off to bed (it's later here than the UK!!)I just wanted to welcome you to the forum. We're a bit light on moderators tomorrow - one off to Sharm for the week and one in Hurghada and though I'm away for the day in Dubai, if you've any questions about finding your way around the forum etc, I'll get back to you soon. Meantime I know that lots of other members will be ready to chat or advise.

Look forward to lots more posts from you!...and hi to Karen!

Very best wishes

Linda

Cool Introductions

Hello
My Name is Peter, I am Married to Donna, we have five children in total from previous marriage. I have one girl 16 at school and a boy 18 in the Army.
Donna has Two Boys 17 at school and 27 Studying. 1 Girl 25 working in the Prison service. We live in Derby, I am an Area manager for a hazardous waste company. Donna is a care-worker.
We have just put a registration fee down on a one bedroom apartment on the Lotus Breeze development in hurghada. We will use this as a holiday home with the hope of renting for the remainder of the year.
This is the first foreign investment we have entered into so any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.
PS with the army of Kids between us you can understand us wanting to get away (only Joking)
