I have been reading this forum for a while and find it provides lots of useful information and so eventually decided to join! I am the wrong side of 40, have no children and live with my husband and beloved cat in a small village in County Durham. We had our first holiday in Egypt in 1988 to Luxor and have kept going back for 20 years. As well as Luxor we have been to Taba, Cairo, Hurghada, Sharm, El Gouna and had a nile cruise - needless to say we are addicted! We have seen many changes especially the growth of Sharm. So this year after much debate we decided to purchase in El Gouna and hopefully will have our place in the sun next year.

Hi Majicou

Thank you for the lovely introduction and welcome to the forum. So far we only have a few members that are buying or living in El Gouna so it's great to have another. What are you buying i.e. a villa? and where in El Gouna exactly? From all that I've read and the photos I've seen (plus I have a friend who works there) it looks a beautiful place, so congratulations.

If you have any trouble finding your way around the forum just ask one of the moderators - there's usually at least one of us around most of the time. Any questions, you'll always find someone willing to answer them for you.

Best wishes
Linda

Thanks for the kind words Lsab - we are buying in West Golf in El Gouna - a 2 bed apartment that is built on the ends of the sections of apartments - so all living areas are downstairs and we also have a roof terrace. It is due for completion next September but when we were last there in May it looked like it would be ready before then - I have heard that Orascom usually deliver on time but have never heard of early delivery - we'll wait and see but certainly looking forward to it!
