Hi Kendra and Tony and welcome. We cruised the Nle a couple of years ago after staying at the Sonesta St George staying in a fab front Nile View room. Watching all the boats up and down inspired us to book for a cruise and we loved it. We have been to Luxor a few times and there is sooo much to see and do.

Are you looking for rental or just yourselves?

We bought in Sharm last Oct and havent looked back. Our property has now doubled in price in less that a yr.

Good luck and al the best and Neil and Linda are very helpful xxx

Alison

Hi Kendra & Tony, Welcome to the forum. We've purchased a villa apartment in Al Ahyaaa (between Hurghada and El Gouna) and are really looking forward to completion at the end of 2009, although we have no plans to move out to Egypt permanently. We visited Luxor a couple of years ago and agree it is a wonderous place. Have you seen any developments you're interested in yet? Are you planning on buying 'off-plan' or complete/near completion? Will be interesting to have a new thread to read and I'm sure there will be others buying in Luxor

I lived in Luxor for 4 years before moving to Hurghada, I loved it in luxor and have many friends there. You are not able to go to supermarkets and buy foreign products as we can in Hurghada, but regardless you will love it there.

Where have you looked at buying in Luxor?

I have been looking for a couple of years now, can't seem to find exactly what I want.

It has to be a large garden which is fenced in and secure for my dogs, that's the most important thing. Now for me, I would like, sea view, would like a private beach (but can do without it), swimming pool, 3 or 4 bedrooms, quiet area with foreigners (because of dogs would hate them to be poisened). Price range would be depending on how perfect the villa is. Anything with the above requirements I would be interested to look at.

Hi Everyone

I know I have put on an introduction before but I thought it was about time I updated my information.

I have now lived in Hurghada for 3 months and really enjoying my new life in the sun.

I have recently started a new job working for an Egyptian/British developer and although I am still finding my feet I'm really enjoying it.

I hope to be back on the forum a lot more now hopefully we can get some good healthy discussions going.

Lyndsay
