Default To the Ladies and Gentlemen interested in Egyptian property developments

Let me introduce myself, well my name is Adam Caan and I in my professional capacity have first hand knowledge of a development mentioned on this forum.

Before you ask, a little bit about me.

I live and work in the London area, originally from Bedfordshire have become a guest of the greatest city in the world for the last 5 years.
Before I started in the Egyptian real-estate Industry, I ran my own tele-communications company starting from a little back office of my best friends post office in 1994 aged 18 to eventually having a little network of over 20 shops in 2000, eventually selling to a major high street chain. Spent the next two years travelling the globe, with the last 10 months of that in India. It was in India I actually met my partner, she was there working for a charity to promote cleaner water for the rural population. Upon our return we married and have three beautiful children. While she still continues with her charity work her current project raising funds for the orphans of the Kashmir earthquake. I started up in property renovation and development and through this gained an interested in international property after a few schrewd purchases gave fantastic returns over a short term. Was approached through a mutual friend by a director of well known property hedge fund to help source financially sound real-estate and land. Recently headhunted by NMH to head up their Egypt venture which brings me to today. I truely believe Egypt has the potential to offer the property investor the best returns from all the emerging markets, and if you manage to find the right development in the location, the rental yields and capital growth should be second to none. Well thats me in a nutshell, hello everybody.

Exclamation Opinion

Dear SLG
Belive me it depends on who are your friends in this area and people around and every one is grown up enough to know how he or she can live and select people around him to make realtions and friend ship there is many nationalities live here and if you don't like Egyptians you will find as well other people from same nationality or country.
I believe every where in the world there is good people and there is bad peopple and you choose your life whom with will do it???
Life is full of choices and Realy Egypt is most safe and nice people u can meet, sometimes they don't meet European standards in some aspects but they not bad people and its a country who treat foreigners realy realy realy good.

Default Hi

Hi everyone - I'm new to the forum - a quick introduction.

My name is Nick, 36 years old, married to Melissa with 2 children - girl of 13 and boy of 6.
We moved to the Costa Blanca in Spain 5 years ago. I have an air conditioning company and Melissa imports childrens clothes from the UK. Love the lifestyle here - not all sunshine and roses but all in all we feel we have a better quality of life than in the UK.
We've been to Egypt a couple of times. Jan 06 on a red sea cruise (pyramids etc) and a week in sharm, then recently Jan this year to Dahab. I'm a keen scuba diver - what a place the red sea is to dive!
We have decided that Egypt seems a good place for a property investment, and though we have never been to Hurghada this does seem the place where most people are advising we put our money. We are booked to come to Hurghada on 12th February to hopefully set our minds straight and get on the ladder.

Default a bit about me.... and the wife

Hi guys ,you may have seen my postings or tirades as someone has called them.

I'm Wayne, 33yrs, living in the Royal Borough of Sheffield although I am originally from the Doncaster area.

I have spent most of my working years in the commercial arena .. 10 years in the payoll industry for Rugby Cement Plc, ADP a large american payroll bureau then Chelsea FC.. Four years in the recruitment industry in niche environments and then decided to leave all the commercialness behind and plump for a position rehabilitating offenders and substance misusers ending in employment and upskilling.

I love travel and have often have talked about owning a place abroad. We have now done this on a small scale but come 2009 , we will have a little place that we always wanted.. Being of indian decent, I love culture, love people and ultimately love being in different countries. In fact I got married in 2004 in Sri Lanka, having a traditional singalese wedding ceremony.

Our love of Egypt stems from our one and only visit to Sharm back in 2001. We spent 2 weeks at the Coral Beach Tiran Hotel and had to call Nat West emergency assistance as we ran up a large hotel tab. I loved the sea there and went to Ras Mohamed to get a super view of the coral. We also met fateh , a local who ran the local shisha tent near the marina. we also had a lot of fun at the Camel Bar where we were always drunk and tripping over the abundance of monkey nut shells there . That and the cheap prices is why we are buying in Egypt to the envy of our friends.

I met Cara my lovely wife via the internet , although not in the conventional way. Cara is a senior housing advisor for Shelter and I am very proud of her.
Cara also doubles as my chief navigator "Caranav" as she has to put up with my erratic driving and lack of direction. She too is a lover of travel, and we always want to move to every place we have been.

Hope I have not bored you too much!!

Regards

Wayne & Cara
