I agree with Peter. I never book a hotel now without checking reviews of past visitors on Tripadvisor.

Here's their rankings for Hurghada hotels:

This is good information to know and very relevant to the other thread that has been running here where people have concerns that there is already an over-supply of accommodation.

I had the same problem when planning my trip in October - the majority of hotels we tried to get into were booked.

Which reminds me - don't stay at La Perla - it was rubbish!

Default hurghada hotel

The hotels are fully booked as all the european companies changed the visitors to Turkey to Egypt due to the war in Iraq (Turkey wants to Bomb Iraq)

I have just booked a triple room in the Marriot resort 22-27 November so may be worth you trying that.

I'm not going from Manchester Nigel, flying Heathrow to Cairo with BMI, staying overnight in Cairo and then down to Hurghada the next day via Egypt Air.
Not cheap at around £300pp but I'm very restricted due to business reasons at the moment so worth it for me.
