Default Best Hotel in Egypt

IMHO the best hotel in Egypt is the Four seasons in Garden City or Sharm. Nothing else comes close that Ive seen.

Need a hotel in Hurghada for myself, wife and 14 year old. Bed and Breakfast arrangement would be adequate as quite like to walk out in the evening for a meal. Don't need 5 star but good 3 or 4 star would be nice.
Needs swimming pool (preferably heated) as I'm hoping it is still warm enough to swim and be centrally located as we will be looking over several properties.

Recommendations please.........

Hi Jeremy I agree the Four Seasons is simply the best - and prices to go with it.

I asked them to email me their menu as I was told it was around £100 for a meal for 2. But the prices are on par with a good restaurant in the UK with starters averaging £9 each and main around £18 which I dont think is expensive although it is for Egyptian standards.

We all know though - especially in Egypt - the well known saying ' you only get what you pay for '

Hi Jeremy,

Maybe you should give the Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh a go. Standard in on par with the Four Seasons and all rooms are suites.

There is 'Sweet Home' run by a German lady called Erica. As you drive from El Gouna to Hurghada, just before the Calimera Hotel there is a small pretty road with white villas and at the end the villas have been turned into a hotel. My friend has stayed there. If someone is looking for somewhere very quiet or they are purchasing in Oasis Marina and want to sit on a hotel veranda and admire the bay looking north to El Gouna. Nothing else to do there though unless you can join in the activities at the Calimera. Not sure of the prices but she has a website. You can walk along the beach north where there are many construction projects and eventually get to the Oasis marina site. And pick Erica's brain as to whether her business venture is profitable. I don't think it is so luxurious but she has been there quite a number of years.

if she has been there a number of years it must be working! I think she sounds like a retired lady, making ends meet, by renting out B&B style..I like this as well, good reccomendation Georgina!
