The old Ebaid supermarket in El Gouna has just reopened. Went to check it out. In the frozen section they have packets of Stuffed Cow's Bowels.

Yummy!

This is the forecast for Hurghada WindGURU: Egypt - Hurghada but when you change it to El Gouna it is much cooler in the evening. Guess we are more exposed. We have just had a week of beautiful weather with very light winds. Now the winds are picking up again that means cooler evenings. During the day as long as you are in the sun it is hot and out of the wind. I am wearing jeans and jackets now in the evening. You need to check the forecast because the weather changes like it does everywhere else. It can be 30 degrees or 20 degrees. We have warm weeks in the winter and cold weeks down to 6 degrees. Coldest time seems to be early hours of the morning. Check the forecast before you leave.

El Gouna is 30 minutes by car north from Hurghada. We are more exposed to the wind here as the buildings are low and we are surrounded by desert and sea so I guess that's why the forecast says it is cooler.

Default Weather Report

Hi all,

Oh how I wish I was back in El Gouna!!!!

I am in East Kilbride near Glasgow and it is freezing, wet, windy and miserable. I have caught a cold (3rd day off the flight) and I am in the middle of moving house. I wish we had a customer services number here. Not so easy to find tradesman to do work quickly here.

On the good news side, I get to see my grandchildren every day, there are so many sales on in the shops, Marks and Spencer, wine section in the supermarket and driving.

Still, I can't wait to get back on the 19th November.

Brrrrrrr......,
Margaret

I think I have posted this in the wrong thread.

Default Shops near Oasis Resort, north Hurghada

I can't find the Oasis Resort thread anymore but I said I would find out about the nearest mini market. If you walk about 5-10 minutes north of Oasis there is a layby on the right hand side with Finally Home furniture, a boat shop and the last shop 'was' a mini market when I went in a few years ago. It is very dark in this whole area at night but the shop was open when I went past last night.

And the number for Metro home delivery is 065-3451494/95 or 0120005875.

You can buy tourist sim cards to make cheap calls here.

And the nearby hotels will sell cans of drinks, bottles of water and sweeties.

Yes this is just on the main coast road that runs between Hurghada and El Gouna. Parts of this road are lit well and other parts are completely dark.
