It is very dark in this whole area at night but the shop was open when I went past last night.

And the number for Metro home delivery is 065-3451494/95 or 0120005875.

You can buy tourist sim cards to make cheap calls here.

And the nearby hotels will sell cans of drinks, bottles of water and sweeties.
thanks Georgina for this - have put it on a post it note

hi georgina

i feel as though you are "my new best friend" i know you said you only visit twice monthly, lucky you! gosh i seemed to have forgotton the question i was going to ask you help! let me look back and see if something reminds me, how are you in the meantime? o.k. seen what it was you know the metro supermarket and you said you can get them to deliver, do you have to go in first to order or can you do it on-line, not that i will have computer access initially, who else delivers things in hurghada apart from the obvious such as furniture stores etc.

many thanks

Hi NQ
You telephone them and place your order. I have never tried this because where I live in El Gouna is so hard to find and confusing for even our tok tok drivers and taxis that work here. But many people use the delivery service in El Gouna and it is very cheap especially considering they have to drive all the way from Hurghada which takes 30 minutes.

I prefer to go to the store and look at everything. You have to be careful about some imported items because they can be very expensive. And their hot, roast chicken is gorgeous on their hot takeaway counter. Best to go a few times to get used to their products and prices first.
