Hi Propertastic,

is this the same Al-Ahyaa as the Al Ahiaa near Moubarak 7 mentioned in the Propertastic book, and if so how near is it going to be ????????

Rgds from Ed

They do delivery as well.
Took this last week - pic of a busy Metro

The choice of food is quite good for me, even for my very English tastes.

Prices are not cheap for Egypt but compare well to English prices in general for most things which means much cheaper than say Spain.

I even found a brand name icecream for 27p that would cost about £1 in UK.

Metro is wonderful. Only vegetables never look too brilliant there when I have been. The souk in Dahar, Downtown Hurghada is best place for fruit and veg although nothing exotic. And they never seem to have any fillet steak when I ask.

Be careful because sometimes they are not the real brand but a copy.

I love the roasted hot chickens. Not sure what they stuff them with but I make soup out of the bones they are sooooo good

Default Supermarkets

Metro opened in El Kawther last night. It is about 300mtrs on from Hammed and Sons(going away from the Esplanade). I was in there last night it is big, bright and clean. Very good choice of local and international food, good meat, cheese and grocery sections. For all who get withdrawal symptons there are Heinz baked beans but at £1.40 a can bring your own or try the local brand at 50P a can. Now we have something to go with the bacon and sausage from the Think Pig pork shop in Sakkala.

Hi there

Where abouts is this new Metro? I am not sure where El Kawther Touristic area is?

We are going out in August, I do hope Senzo mall is open, as we was looking forward to the massive Abu Ashara Hypermarket!!

Does anyone know also if any Supermarkets have opened near the Intercontinental Area?

James.

I agree Neilsja the senzo mall looks fantastic - will try and make some enquiries. The funfair / entertainment will hopefully keep our kids quiet - could possibly bribe them, 'let us do the shopping first and then you can go on the rides'.
