As for dont put yourself in dangerous surroundings - we were walking in Hurghada and our daughter was behind us ' her mum and dad ' with her friend and a shopkeeper pinched her backside! She was 12 yrs old at the time. How was she putting herself in dangerous surroundings? Come on please Egypt is well known for sexual harrassment. Yes we can apply violence but that wont achieve anything. Its just like a slap on the wrist and they will continue. Dont lets put ourselves down as well. Report as Zeiad says and get them arrested and charged and not end up in the cells ourselves.
Hi Queenie,
I think I already reply to this message, but it seems like my reply disappeared.
I'm not saying break somebodies nose, I'm not saying be violent.
What I'm saying is basically make noise, like a barking dog. Nobody comes close to a barking dog. Warn somebody who is breaking the limits that if he continues you will take action. Let this person know that he went too far.
And if something happened, take actions. scream, shout, get the attention of as much people as possible. They will judge him without you do anything. They will make a schandale and make this person totally shamed and all egyptians close by will talk bad about him.
Seems to me, more effective then going to the authorities. I have my experiences with that and I don't believe in it. It takes a lot of time and you don't gain anything in the end.
I can share my experiences, both second hand and first hand experiences, but I will save you the time.

Egypt is a country in which you have to let go of the images of police like you are used to in UK or Europe.

Trust me in this one.

Huda

Dear Queenie and all forum member i would like to mention that now in Egypt thae law is very strict with sexual harassment and last week a 19 year old man was sent for 1 year in jail for only sexual harassment by words not by touch

so if anyone did anything just take him to nearest police station and make a court case against him and he will be in jail if we all do this any stupid persons who think to do any thing will think 1000000 times before do any thing
