And I can come and go as I please for 6 months as long as I obey the above?
Can one of the moderators please move this to flights thread, It's REALLY REALLY HELPFUL. Thanks

You now have a visa that lasts 12 months, if you are leaving within 88 days of your original entry you can use chartered airlines, you do not need to apply for a 6month multi entry visa as well(remember also that multi entry visas can only be purchased before you enter Egypt from their Embassy in London).
Where a 6 month multi entry benefits people is, in theory, you do not have to pay $15 every time you re-enter Egypt, so if you are coming and going on a regular basis in any 6 month period it should save you money.
With the likes of Globespan and Easyjet, both scheduled airlines, servicing Hurghada shortly all this confusion should become a thing of the past and the fact that you are not looking to leave Egypt until December means that ou can use either of these companies if in doubt.

Thomas Cook, opposite the Esplanade in the Blue Sky offices, will sell you a oneway charter ticket for £195 to get you back to the UK as long as you are within the 90 days but their tickets are only available for sale at relatively short notice (within 10 days of your proposed departure).

Danny,

We got our multi entry visas in Cairo. They run out in November and I was hoping that I could renew it in Hurghada. I know for a fact that you can renew it in Cairo. Does anyone have any info on the situation in Hurghada please?

Margaret

I stand corrected, but do not know whether you can get a multi entry in Hurghada, you will have to pop to the local Government offices for info on this.

Wellheld still need not worry as they have the neccassary visa.

Danny,

Any idea where the local government office might be?

Another question: can you renew your multi entry visa before the valid one runs out? I am travelling on the 5th November on a one way ticket and my multi entry visa runs out on the 25th. I plan to be back before the 25th but, as they say, "the best laid plans". I could go up to London and have it renewed there but I was just wondering if anyone knew what the script was in Hurghada.

Thanks,
Margaret

Hi Paddy and welcome to the forum. Nice to hear you're buying experience has been pleasant and easy for you. Will be nice to see some photo's of your villa as it progresses. When you've posted 6 times you should be able to upload them on here.

Which part of Ireland are you from? My husband and I are coming over to Westport, Mayo next week visiting relatives and have a Guiness or three

I always buy my multi entry visa in Hurghada. Again you need copies of your passport and the stamp from your last entry into egypt. It is hard to explain where but I will try:

Go on the coast road from El Gouna to Hurghada and when you get to the junction with the petrol station bear left. It is along this road on the right hand side before you get to the turn for the traffic office. Look for a large sandy area with concrete shading and cars parked under. Turn right after this and then right again at the T Junction. This is a dead end and the building is on the right at the end with a security guard outside. go up the the first floor and queue at the first window. If they ask for more photocopies there is a tiny shop if you come out of the building and walk straight along the road to the main road to the traffic office. One of the little shops on the left does photocopying. Maybe take a photo because I can't remember if you need one for the entry exit visa.

Get there around 9.30 and she will probably tell you to return at 1pm. After a few years she does recognise you and you may get a smile

Hi, nothing to do with property (tho I am buying in Hurghada) but I am going on holiday to Sharm in December and I wondered if it was best to take English pounds or US dollars?
When I last went everyone was crying out for pounds but with the current situation I didn't know if it was still the same? Should I take any Egyptian or just change my money out there?

Also, do we need to get a visa at the airport? I read that if you are staying in the resort you don't actually need one (tho you will be persuaded to get one by your rep so they get their cut) but if you plan on the Tiran Island boat trip (which I preferred to Ras Mohammed) then you do need to purchase one?

Any other tips greatly appreciated!
