I'm an English revert to Islam (20 years ago now) and I too am married to an Egyptian called Mohamed - but then it is a very popular and beloved name.

It was lovely to read your introduction

Hi again Paddy & Angela. Your villa does sound like it will be very nice when finished and very big too Can't wait to see the pics and will ofcourse love to share a tipple with you on completion if we're all over at the same time. Our villa apartment is due for completion December 2009 and we're planning a 'get together' to celebrate in the New Year 2010. If both developments are complete around the same time sounds like we could be having a real 'boozy' celebration LOL

Hi Linda and Seloua, If you check your profile Linda, on the very front page you will see any public messages for you. I can see Seloua's message on there. It is handy if you want to send a quick message that doesn't necessarily have to be private

hi suz,
i read all the tread recently and i must admit that you are more commited to the oasis forum, than i do, i feel lost with all the concerns that people have, there is one thing that make me relax is that it will be a new experience we may not have the english and the european standard, but i am conviced that there will be many positive point, such as no rush no running after a life style that it cost us a fortune, when you see how people are surviving in this countries you realise how lucky we are to live in uk, but at the same time when you see the family life and the strong relationship they have even with ther neighbours then i think we are not that lucky, i am sure that years ago it was the same in UK but it disapeared with the time, then we need to grab it and have a part of this before it disapears in egypt aswell.

Thanks Suzanne - I am embarrassingly stupid when it comes to these things. Having said that, I'm happy enough to either post on open forum or send a PM. As you know, I do most of my private stuff by email

Hi Seloua, I have been rather involved with the Oasis projects again of late. I know how important it is for us all parting with our hard earned cash to 'get it right'. The beauty of this forum is, you can be as involved or uninvolved as you like, or your life allows you to be, yet still keep up with the latest news and information. Have to agree the layed back life style is very appealing, which is one of the main reasons for my love of Egypt as a country. It is sad to see how hard life is for many Egyptians, this said they have to be praised for the way they handle life. They're generally always happy, polite and very courteous, but possibly the most important thing is they 'stick together', family is the most important thing to them and the bond is so strong you can feel it. I feel that UK and our European neighbours could learn a lot from this.

hi suz,
i totaly agree with you and god bless you, your English is so beautifuly formulated( i am just kiding i know english is your first language) , but eventhough i went to unversity in uk but i still have some defficulties in choosing such reach vocabulay but i must admit at home i avoid using english, i speak only arabic and french to my children, may be that 's what hold me back of improving and progressing. you wrote what i wanted to say, but unfortunatly i can not find such expressive and good chosen words. you got the point.

Hi Paddywin, plenty of party people at the Frog always ready to welcome you in style, hint hint. Don't forget to get your extra duty free allowance within 24 hours of arrival (or is it 48) from the duty free shop on village st or at the airport. It would be a shame to waste it!!!!!!!
