I agree, them guys that sell the strawberries are real con artitsts!! A friend of mine had a similar problem with them. They were going to buy some,so they got their money out and paid, but the guy didn't give them enough change, they argued, but the guy pulled out another note and said no you only gave me this and they wanted more money too.

Its a shame you were caught by the con artists in Sakkala; its the only part of town where they are always in evidence. I bought a half kilo of strawberries and 6 bananas in Mubarak 2 last night for 8 EL. I am sure this was a very fair price.

That does sound fair. Think I will only buy strawberries from a shop now. They will end up with no customers at all.

Default World Run

Jesper Olsen is arriving in El Gouna this afternoon and moving onto Hurghada tomorrow. See WORLD RUN part II for more information. I have no further information but hopefully will be meeting up with him to write something for El Gouna magazine.

Pretty tough considering we have a sand storm blowing here but at least the wind is behind him.

Ok guys, time for an apology.

I arrived back in the UK last night and was completely shocked about the weather. Flew over to Belfast this morning and the sky's where completely grey and of course it was raining. As we landed my step dad said about the lovely green fields, my reply was but look at the horrible grey skys.

I did notice big improvements in the weather in Hurghada over the last few weeks. My mum was over for 2 weeks and only had one bad day. Other than that the weather was excellent.

Roll on the 09 Feb so I can get back to warm sunny Hurghada.

It's been awful as only Brit weather can. You should have packed some Egyptian sun up and brought it back with you to share with us. Least the temperature is positively balmy compared to what it has been.

I think the weather this winter here in El Gouna/Hurghada has been exceptional. Since November we have had light winds and warm sun with just a few cold spells and windy days so far. It was around 26 degrees today. I hope it continues! Can't believe the weather forecast everytime I look for the UK. It has gone very quiet here though. And with the exchange rate dropping to as low as LE7.4 everything is very expensive for the tourists visiting or anyone changing their money at this rate. Especially El Gouna prices. In the Indian last night a main course of chicken makhani was LE68 and sag paneer LE33 That's ridiculous.
