Hi Claire - sorry to hear of your split. I would try and carry on with the purchase on your own if finances allow - girl power and all that. Chin up and just keep thinking about all that sea, sun and bronzed bodies on the beach LOL xx

Default Just about ready to go

Off to Manchester Airport in a couple of hours for a nights rest at the travel lodge before flying out to Hurghada in the morning.
To those of you who have offered help, I may contact you sometime during the next two weeks. We are going to find Bulls for a meal and drink...hope to see some of you there.
Thanks for all the advice. This web site is a godsend to the likes of us.

Can't wait

Innoculations

Dont know if this has been dealt with on another thread but does anyone have opinions on innoculations for visiting Egypt. Recommended Polio, Hep A, Typhoid and Tetanus but none mandatory.

Anybody bothered with these before visiting?

Hi John and Kate have a fab time and take lots of pics for everyone - furniture ones would be great too.

Hi Riccal I am all up to date with mine ( all above plus diptheria) just need a booster for Hep A before October and then it covers me for another 20 yrs. Although they are not compulsory and only recommended I wouldnt mess about and chance my health and also if you havent had them done it could invalidate your insurance policy and proof costly. This was covered in another thread briefly http://www.propertycommunity.com/forum/egypt...html#post44988

My only commentis that as I heard (not 100% sure) that in Sharm you do not actually purchase the property, but receive it for rent for 99 years, in all other areas you get it for 100% ownership = Freehold.

I am new and this is my first post. I have visited Sharm El Sheik several times and after a particularly traumatic year I have decided to take the plunge (no pun intended) and look at working in the arena I love - diving.

I have my flight booked for 22 May this year and an apartment arranged at £70 pm.

I hope to use the little money I have left after a particularly devious and money grabbing partner and start a new life in Egypt - so any advice is most welcome, other than relationship advice

I want to buy an apartment for £30 - 35k as a home for me but also as an investment for the future. Sharm El Sheikh is attractive to me because I have been there before, but it seems Hurghada, Dahab and Marsa Alam are all up and coming areas with cheaper properties offering potentially a better growth.

My dilemma is where will give me the best potential growth in investment for the best price and will these less popular resorts reduce my chances of selling again if I wish to. Is there a differen resort to consider?

I will obviously need to consider the Diving interest and facilities in the area but again the dilemma is Sharm El Sheikh = lots of divers but lots of competition and less popular resorts = less divers but less competition. Again it is a case of trying to predict the growth in interest.

It would be possible to commute possibly from Dahab to Sharm El Sheikh meaning a place in either would give me more opportunities but obviously Hurghada or Marsa Alam would really limit me to living and working in those areas.

If anybody has any feedback, alternative locations or suggestions I would be most grateful

Take care all and maybe I,ll meet some of you next month
