Hi Dawn,

So reading between the lines, the nightmare journey was worth the time you spent in Hurghada! I'm sure that next time it will all run smoothly...it really couldn't be any worse, could it?!

Did you get everything sorted out for your apartment? Is it now totally ready for your next trip? I know that Wayne loves it there and that this is your first experience of Egypt so what did you think of it? Bet the kids were happy to have you home though.

Speak soon

I brought my own Koleston colours with me and wish I had brought the peroxide now. Next time!!! I will try the Steigenberger and the Sheraton. I just need someone who speaks good English so they understand the mixture of colours. Don't want to have orange hair!! I know what you mean about the sun on your hair here. It wrecks the colour, but I have brought special colour shampoo this time (on advice of hairdresser in UK) which does seem to help with the sun thing.

The problems we girlies have!!!!!

Thanks again,
Margaret
You can try Daniela Weniger in Esplanada Mall 010 205 6776 or Melanie Orritt 010 444 8658.

I personally did not try but was recommended

Dawn,

Sorry to hear of your nightmare journey.

One of the most frustrating experiences we have had was at Heathrow when we couldn't get on the flight because the conveyor belt broke down and they could not check in luggage. The plane was sitting on the runway and the only way we could fly was without our luggage, which they would send out on the flight the next day!!!! Like you would do that from Heathrow. Not an option anyway as we had loads of pork stuff in our cases. Of course they left it so late to tell us what was happening that all the alternative flights to Cairo had already taken off. We eventually flew out 4 days later after eating sausages for breakfast, lunch and dinner and paying 2 lots of taxi fares to the airport. No compensation of course because the flight did take off - with hardly any passengers!!!!

Most times everything works fine but when it doesn't .........

Better luck in the future,

Margaret

Hi Linda, Yes it was worth going, I really like it in Hurghada, every one is so friendly. And a guy in the winking frog is going to teach me some arabic next time we're out there (for a small fee of course), but thats ok, because I really want to learn some, I think you need it. I love our apartment its huge!! Its not quiet totally ready, just a couple of things need to be done and a few more things to buy to go in it. Other than that Im really happy with it. I love the area Wayne picked, its close to everything we need and when we go out in December, we will definately be chilling and enjoying the sun!! There are so many English people around there aswell which is a bonus. When we got home one evening I did find a friend in the bath and i screamed, which made Wayne jump, it was a cockroach!, Wayne quickly poured some ant killer powder on it then some fly spray and that did the trick! LOL. The day we got there we went out and brought all that stuff! Lol. We went into a t shirt shop in Dahar, as we walked in I noticed some thing running behind some towels that were up at the windows, oh yes lo and behold it was a rat, so yer I screamed and the shop guy said 'dont be afraid its only a rat!! Lol We did buy some t shirts in there. I just thot oh well sumfink I have to get use to! as long as they dont come in our apartment!! lol

Hi Margaret,
Thank you. I dont like heathrow airport, I prefere Gatwick. But it is the first time I have flown from there. That must of been a nightmare for you with all your pork aswell!! And to get from Gatwick to Heathrow by bus they wanted £20-25 per person!! Its criminal!! I must say for our first trip to Hurghada via Cairo its frightening, when you dont know where you are going from landing to getting on the domestic flight! Yer there is people that want to help you, but for a fee! lol. Plus they picked on us at Cairo airport, they opened our case and stated taking out my shampoo, conditioner and deodrant, saying Im not allowed to have it because they were 500ml each. I said you must be joking its not in our hand luggage!! I then said your winding me up and you cant do that!! In the end they put it back. By then I just thought, I cannot believe this, what else is going to happen!! Not good for first time over!! Well at least I no what to expect next time!! lol Thats why I think it would be so good to learn arabic!! LOl. Once I learn that will shock them. Ha Ha. Well at least I think we have learnt some think lol.
