Default Investment in Goa in India

Hi Guys
Has anyone on here actually bought investment property overseas? Where did you buy?
I'm currently thinking about Goa. I love the place and I'm certain there's a demand for luxury rental properties. Anyone got any views on this?
I've found this site offering property in Goa., does anyone know of any site??
Thanks
Benjamin

Default Investment in Goa in India

Hi Benjamin,
I have a apartment in candolim which is about finished if you read the daily express dated 24/8/06 overseas property page you will see what a sound investment property in Goa is.
When I agreed to buy and the deposit was paid building started. The base was cast and the ground floor columns, plus the floor.
I was informed by the developer that the value of the apartment had risen by ?10,000 in a short period due to the Goa government refusing any more planning permission due to the fact that they can't sustain the water supply.
So if you are thinking of going ahead be quick.
Thank you
kameron

Goa – India’s ‘must see’ destination is fast becoming a ‘must have’ for tourists who want to own a permanent place under the Goan sun. Goa’s alluring beaches and palm fringed countryside has so much to offer that one cannot have enough of it.And what better way to get that ‘more’ than owning a slice of that paradise? You will be spoilt for choice with the range of residential properties that Goa has to offer. If you’re a regular tourist to Goa, mounting hotel rates can be exasperating, restricting your stay to 2-3 days, and before you’ve even begun to savour the spicy delicacies on the beach, it’s time to pack your bags. What lends appeal to this enchanting city is the “live and let live” lifestyle of the local population. At peace with nature, Goa has a low crime rate, and no history of communal or religious unrest. Rated as one of the best states to live in, Goa is unpolluted and not overcrowded, and offers a better quality of life.Driven strongly by tourism, real estate investment in Goa offers excellent appreciation. Besides, the expanding hotel industry is on a constant search for land, and prices have appreciated by 25-30% in areas fringing Panaji, the capital, where mega luxury projects are coming up.With the best of both worlds that Goa has to offer, what are you waiting for?

Hi benjamin
I am also thinking of investing abroad, possibly in Goa which i would also use as a holiday home. I have read various articles and reports saying that the property prices in India will rise due to a high demand and limited supply. Does anyone have any information on beachside developments going up in Goa? Also, does anyone know what the rental market is like in order to achieve a good yield down there?

Only Indians or Non resident Indians can legally buy property in Goa.

Infact Brits who have misguidedly already brought out there are in danger of losing their houses, if not worse being lynched by locals:

Hi,

Investing in Goa is an extremely good idea to invest. This is the place where there is an lot of foregin exchange can be found during the season from october to february. It's an international tourist destination and favourate to most destination to most of the people. You can buy the property over there from the government there are some rules set by the government of Goa for the foreginers to invest in property or in any form.

being a local yes i do agree investing in goa is great as long as you want to live there and enjoy goa!when considering goa the north is more expensive then the south as it has more facilities, social activities focussed at tourism.
if you are looking for beautiful beaches, village life and peace, and value the south is for you.
Due to speculation, inflation and strong demand both from national and international tourists prices have increased drastically while also leading to a strain on natural resources.
yes the govenrmant has clamped down on new developments demanding more planning going into them
i think internationals can still purchase after froming a company or something
sites i myself check are homesgoa.com and sapanarealestate.com
the latter being the website of one of goas best real estate developers!
check them out and welcome to goa if you do buy!
