Default co-ownership of foreigner

I am a non-Indian planning to buy a house together with my girlfriend who is Indian. Does anyone know whether it is possible for me to be recognized as the co-owner, so whether both of our names can be on the papers as well as the mortgage? Who can give me info or tell me where I can get this information? Thanks.

Dear Sir, You can buy property in your and your spouse name provided you have a standing here in India, you can buy property registered in your name you can appoint somebody to take care of your property for its maintanance and other things. For this first you have make a visit and see the people and make sure whether they are permanent resident of that place then with the help of a lawyer you can do the necessary things, you can pay some amounts to your care takers for their job and see that your property is well managed. with regards, R.
