Relocating to Delhi / Gurgaon - Can anyone help?

Hi, I have been offered relocation for 12 months with work. The companies office is in Gurgaon, just outside of Delhi. I am here till 1st March seeking apartments / getting used to India, (this is my second visit). I have found some great information out from this website.

In respect of looking for properties, we have viewed many in Gurgaon, these have not been suitable. Should we persist with Gurgaon or should we look towards South Delhi?

I agree with VGP1 ...I live in Gurgaon and work here - and the access from South Delhi stinks... Rush hour can push commuting time to well in excess of 1 hour ...and the trip can be done in 20-25 minutes when the traffic situation is good...

Apart from the high-rises commodities like pool, gym etc, there are also power stations, allowing you to run A/C during blackouts (which are relatively common here) and they have large water tanks, to ensure you don't run out of water like South Delhi tends to do very often during summer...

The choice is a no-brainer if you don't have any other compelling reason to move to South Delhi - then stay as close to your office as possible - you can always go to South Delhi (the shopping is more interesting, and there are a fair bit of good restaurants) in the off hours. Look at residential complexes build by DLF, Unitech and Vatika only - those are the best at maintaining them afterwards...

Hi Jason,

If you are still interested in renting an apartment in gurgaon we have a couple that we own. If you can forward an e-mail address, I can send you complete details of both the apartments with pictures. Both these apartments are fully-furnished and I would recommend that you atleast have a look at them before opting for any other property in Gurgaon or Delhi.
