They have acknowledged receipt of the letters (which is a start), and they have stated that they are drafting the cancellatiion contracts, which I should receive within the next seven days (via-mail). Once we receive the contracts we have been told to sign them, get them certified by a UK Solicitor and return them via DHL to their offices in Cassanblanca.

I am in direct contact via e-mail and phone with a customer services representative. Once I have all the administrative paperwork completed, I don't expect to get monies refunded until next year 2010 (and this after many calls and e-mails). Hence I'm not going to get myself stressed out, being patient is the key, the money will be refunded when it's refunded. With regards to refund, my contract cleraly states that the developer will withold 25% of sums already paid and refund 75%. I'm hoping that £ vs MAD stays weak so that most of the 25% will be absorbed by the weakness in sterling.

We WILL get our money back, but it won't be until 2010 (1st Quarter)

I cancelled my contract back in Jan 2009 on Atlas Golf, still getting the run around.

Do not invest in morocco, your better off trying your luck in the casino, least there you
know the odds are the house usually comes out on top in end.

and the house will pay out if you win.

I dont beleive it, I received a phone from Fedesa last Thurs, telling me, my bank transfer would be done in GBP, and today I have received my refund of my Atlas Golf purchase less 25% , which with the currency in our fav turns out to be less 15%

Cant believe after nearly 20months from my cancellations, but 14 months from
them acknowledging it, of constant calling and emails plus 2 visits.

I have my Money...good luck to others...

What people need to realise is that Morocco was never going tobe a quick 12 to 18 month investment (quick flip profit). For me the minimum time scale was always going to be five years.

If you mis-timed the market, that's your fault an know one elses. It's not not the Moroccan Governments or Developers fault.

The world Economy as a whole has taken a battering (UK, US, Dubai etc....). Patience was always the key here...that's why its called an "investment". If it was wasy we'd all be millionaires overnight.

I am extremely happy with my purchase on Atlas Golf. I have an apartment that has been finished to an extremely high level. Golf course is well into construction and they are due to complete the whole development as promised by 2012. In my opinin the Atlas Golf Resort in Marrakech is being finished and developed to a much higher standard to other developments in Morocco.

I cannot fault the developer here. I look forward to many years of holidays and enjoyment from my apartment.

Remember...Rome was not built in ONE DAY!!

Listen Asshole, are you GFM employee ?, I am just sharing some good news, to give
people hope.

I have not expressed any opinions on the Gov, developer , the people, timing,
on why I invested and when.

Your emotional defensive reaction to a complete strangers news seems odd, sounds like you
have issues regarding your 'investment' if you even have one.

Are you one of these people that work for companys that are being discussed on forums
and try to post postive against bad posts, which makes your reaction even more strange
as my post is postive for the developer as they have returned the money.

I have also bought an apartment (duplex) on the resort. Went through all the trials and tribulations that we all had to in order to purchase it. Paid the final amount at the end of May (wish I hadn't ).
Went on holiday with family last month and found many faults with apartment .... too numerous to list ... some major and some minor. The construction of the apartment overall seems solid but fixtures and fittings are poor. The workers had also been using our bathrooms and we saw them jumping into other empty flats as well.
I tried to get them to fix these whilst I was out there without any luck. Still waiting.
I may sell this once faults resolved. Shame really ... location is one of the most peaceful and scenic I have seen.
Has anyone else had any similar experiences ?

Zed,

Sorry to hear that. I have given my keys to a company called CityRed (UK based company based in Marrakech) to manage my apartment (they also did the furnishing).

They have all the keys to my apartment, hence NO ONE but them have access to the apartment. At the moment they are manageing the payment of my bills to Radeema on a two monthly basis.

I made sure that all snagging was complete before I made my final payment to GFM, so the flat was finished to a good standard (PICS are attached to this thread).

Next time you are in Marrakech speak to the ForeMan Abdul Razaq on 066 5891 327. Give him a list of all the issues while you are there, and make sure they complete before you leave.

I hope you have not left your keys with security, not advisable.
