Default Now is the time to invest in property in South Africa

The prices of property is falling here in South Africa, due to the introduction of the National Credit Act. This means that with the exchange rate being in an overseas investors favour, now is the time to be buying property in South Africa.

We have beautiful weather, friendly people and LOTS of property.

South African property is cheap compared to properties in Europe, and with tourism potential growing for the Soccor World cup in 2010, it would make sense to invest there (I have). However, with the current economic climate, house prices are falling, so it could be better to wait a while (6 months or so) and rather buy Dec 2009. The fact that house prices are falling is not a bad thing (or indicative of a problematic market) - for 7 years house prices have been booming in South Africa, so the past 12 months is only a logical correction. There are no "toxic" bonds as what can be found in America, and construction in housing is stagnating currently, so very soon supply of new homes will not be able to meet demand....and that is the time to already have purchased a house. Try Pam Golding (estate agent - put name in google) - the most reputable estate agent in South Africa.

Hi All,

As a fellow south african, i can understand the excitement of investing in our country. Some of the largest shipping ports in the southern hemisphere lend themselves to yachting mall linked developement as well as some of the best sporting facilities in the world. The current Indian Pro 20 cricket format is evidence of this as well as the up and coming 2010 world cup soccer. The local reserve bank interest rates declining on a regular basis is improving local confidence and wont leave much space for foreign investment. has anyone even heard of the st lucia wetlands, estuary fishing system and game parks on our northern kwazulu natal coastline.check for yourself.

Kind regards
Dale

If you're looking for property for sale in South Africa with Floor plans and Photos visit www.myroof.co.za. This site honestly makes it easy to visualize what you're looking at because of the floor plans. I'd highly recommend them! Best of all, all property on MyRoof is for sale by owner or private property sales.

South Africa certainly is a great investment and there are still rare and unique properties available like this seafront stand in the Western Cape.
