I agree it is tight, however we've managed to do it already in Brasov and Sibiu for 3 bedroom.
We've teamed up with a direct importer of Polish furniture, Ikea prices, but much higher quality.

Well if you can do it it is impressive as we certainly could not provide any sort of desirable standard in a new property at the price you are quoting.

The secret is to work directly with the producer/dealer. Remind me to give you the contacts when I return from Holland.

Default DeMar Furniture packages

DeMar Furnishing Srl- I don’t know if any one has used this company, but I found them very good for the furnishing of my properties in Romania so far, I also hope to use them for some more properties when they are finished.
It’s run by a very nice Irish women called Elaine based in Bucharest who has helped me very much with the furniture pack fit-out of my properties, I receiver very good quality furniture and have the properties rented now, the website is www. demarfurnishing(dot)com for anyone that wants a good honest service and reliable company based in Romania that does the job good for a fair price.

Default Am I right or what?

Hi there Ray,
I've looked for the website you recommend us, but I couldn't find it. Please give us a correct address.
I don't really follow something here (as your message looks to me like it's an advertising one, rather than an innocent advice) how much experience has this company/any of the managing persons running it on the market and from the point of view of rigurous due dilligence could anyone trust a company that came very recently on the market yet claims to hold a solid knowledge of that particular market?

Default Demar furnishings

This may be a long posting as I’m upset and offended
Sorry I missed the s, the website is www.demarfurnishings(dot)com, but I do take offence to the remarks you (Transylvania investment) made about advertising than innocent advice, while reading this website I seen that only one or two companies offered furniture packages so I had dealt with demar furnishings and it was a good experience for me, so just posted the details. I was only posting a genuine reply about a good service I received from this company, but in reply to Transylvania investment who question my posting so facts are outlined below.

Also you said you can’t find the website, so why did you say in your (Transylvania investment) reply that the company claims to hold a solid knowledge of the market (that’s in the companies website), you must have found the website even you claimed you did not (don't claim you did not, I entered the incorrect spelling into Google and the company came up), but you question then how honest another person or company is, while telling a lie yourself???.
Start with yourself on honesty, then move on to slate the rest if you wish.

While this is of no interest to you, a little history about me and Romania, I have property in Romania since 1999, I met a Romanian guy in Saudi Arabia while working in the country and went to Romanian with him many times and I invested in some pretty good ventures in Romanian over the years, we are still in contact and involved in some business still, but he is also very good friend by now also.

The company I bought the furniture from demar furnishings I don’t know how old it is, but the other Romanian (mother) company my brother has dealt with since 2002 on buying a range of furniture products and other products to export to different parts of Europe and I am using them since 2003 to furniture any properties I bought in Romania, the directors are based in Romania and are Irish, I only met them two months ago for the very first time, this website is new from what I know, the company does not advertise in the internet or local papers (unlike local agents) I have being told as it seems to be very busy already with fit-outs, but they have the experience and knowledge of the market as much and more than anyone in Romania from what I have seem, their thoughts on the property market are realistic in my view and not a property agents view which is most of the time a lot different.

Transylvania investment you said the company demar furnishings recently came on the market maybe, but the mother company is here since the 1990’s, maybe demar furnishings is a smaller branch or new brand by the company, can a recently new company like yours with only 3 years experience (as stated in your website) in the Romanian market be trusted ???, have you yet to gain the experience to know the market well, have you the knowledge or do you think you have, but have not yet, who is to judge you, yourself??, it seems the furniture company is here a lot longer than you or your company, don’t judge others people/companies till you have the facts, don’t make statements without backing them up and knowing the facts like a good man before you slate another person or company or me for my genuine posting in this website, you are in business and hope its going well for you, but use you head and don’t make wild comments or other potential clients for you will see your not so true yourself which I hope is not the case.

Ray K

Bravo, Ray.

It seems that a few companies and individuals get a little 'irked' when some one questions their knowledge.

all power to your elbow.

Dear Dean

I think I will reply to this thread before it gets out of hand and highlight the ethos that I am comming from and possibly the ethos that Diana is also on, either way I reply from my perspective.

Since Amanda Lamb came on TV and said romania is the best place for investment this place has been inundated with new found experts who are only out to exploit investors by professing that they have knowledge and experience on the Romanian market when they do not and blatantly lie about these facts to the detriment of investors.

From my perspective if someone will lie about this what else will they lie about, and I think a perfect example of this can be highlighted in what has been done to investors in Greenfields and Sydney!

There are also other bad examples being offered to foreigners on the internet by people professing to be experts and have experience.

Every person has the right to disclosure be it in law or business and if someone is professing to be something they are not do people not have the right to know this or more importantly to check out who they are dealing with?

My advice to anyone doing anything in business is check out who you are dealing with?

Start with a google search on the company on both the uk or Ireland and the country you are dealing in.

Then do a company records search of the company you are dealing with to give you idea as to date of incorporation accounts last filed etc etc.

Do a search for forums like this and see what people are saying about object or agent.

The reality is a lot of agents rely on deception to exploit investors, investors have the right to know as often it is people who are in their autuminal years or those seeking to support an ailing pension or endowment policy.

These people could be your son, mother or brother, alternatively they are someone elses.

Forums such as this have a very high educational value for the benefit of investors and a lot of agents hate them due to it putting a serious spanner in their works. I do nt think anyone reading this forum will be decieved into paying a well known foreign agent 355,000 for a house in Bucharest that we cannot get 169,000 for the same house in the same development when it was bought for over 200,000 2 years ago.

Dear Ray, no offence, but it's not MY business, nor ANYONE's buisiness to be wasting time and energy to look in Google for a company. It was your mistake in the address you provided on this website.
As for accusing us of deceit, that is a little too much as what you did was advertising and what we did was to tell you that we are no fools. I think you should be more careful with the words you are chosing in your messages.

It is again not my business to know the history of the company you introduced to us. We didn't hear about it, so we assumed it was a new company. Amglad you revealed their experience to us. Had we googled up the company's name probably we would have seen more about their experience on the market. However it is not our issue to look in google because someone is advertising and doesn't do it properly.
