Moving to Portugal/Algarve

Hi.
My name is Kristin and I am new to the site. I am researching moving to Portugal from the UK as soon as possible.
I have 3 children ages 2, 6,9 and although I have researched quite thoroughly a lot of areas I would love to hear from anyone who has actually already done this, with any advice and how they have got on.
We are looking for somewhere to either renovate or build and my husband is a general builder so we will be expecting to do the most of the work ourselves.

Have you looked at the Portugal section of this forum?

Which part of Portugal would you like to move to, any preference?

As your children are still relatively young...will they attend international school or would you wish them to attend local Portuguese schools and integrate into the community?

My children have all grown up so have no experience of this personally, but I am in contact with people in various areas.. Expats and Portuguese who have children of similar ages, who may be willing to give you info. Just need a little more as to regards to location. Cannot promise anything but I will at least send them your contact details
