Default Phuket vs Langkawi
Both have similar natural attractions. In fact, the cost of living of Langkawi is significantly lower than Phuket.

But property development is still very much in its infancy. Foreigners are allowed to own 99 leaehold property.

How do you compare these two islands in respect of your choice for vacation or second home property?

Foreign ownership of freehold or leasehold land is allowed in Malaysia, if compared to Thailand, Indonesia, and other south east asia countries where foreigners are restricted to have land ownership. And foreigners are allowed to obtain mortgage from local banks at high margin.
