Default Relocating to central London

I?m from India and have been working in IT for close to 6 yrs. I have traveled to US and China before on assignments. I have now been offered a post in an Investment Bank in Central London. The offer is software developer in a senior role and is close to 33,000 UK Pounds. Is this a good offer? I have heard living costs are very high in London? My net in-hand salary per month would be close to 2000 UK Pounds? How much would be the cost-of-living for living comfortably? Accommodation in East Hall for a couple, food, travel to Central London, Utilities, Council tax, any other costs??

Hi, I only just moved to the UK from the Netherlands and I find costs of living really high here. I am not living in London, but honestly, even for the South, your salary doe not sound impressive. I hope somebody replies to your request that knows more about the actual costs of living but you should take into account that renting a place is really expensive. We rent a three bedroom house in the South for over 600 Pound, not including gas, water, energy or council tax. Just to give you an impression.
Thanks
Joshua

Joshua,

To be frank, the net amount you will receive based on the information provided will most likely to put you in a very tight budget if you want to stay in central London. You will probably have to share a flat also and spend all the money every month. Cutting living cost is one thing, have you thought about asking for more salary from employer?

It's well over two years since Joshua posted, so these replies are a little late !.
