The 20 best places to buy a property in Britain - Times Online

Interesting article on what Knight Frank consider to be the top 20 fail-safe places for property investment in Britain. The top five being:

Cambridge
York
Oxford
Milton Keynes
Guilford

Judging from the readers comments below it’s quite a contentious list!

Well, my money IS with York certainly, BUT you have to know exactly where to buy.
You need an entry level under £150k and these are scarce. However, all is not lost and I am still buying property in York for interested investors.
If anyone wants to know more, do get in touch.

Default Earn Money Whilst Others Sleep - Guest Invest?

Has anyone checked out Guest Invest as a possible investment?

I find the idea of purchasing a luxury hotel room interesting, but need to request the business plans and sales figures. Would these investments be covered by trading standards? Would investors receive a deed for the 'property'? Who would retain rights to the room? Would maintenance be covered by the hotel? Insurance? Is this a leasehold or a scam?

Anyone with further information on hotel investment or experience regarding this please respond.

Default Invest in the UK

The days of cheap credit are over in the UK so - with higher interest rates, investments are becoming harder to 'stack up'. Furthermore, lower loan-to-value (LTV) requirements mean that investors also need put more 'money in' as a deposit.

All is not lost as there are several parts of the south of the country where strong yields are still possible. I would, initially, suggest aiming for the Midlands and the North. Alternatively, HMOs (Houses of Multiple Occupation) are a good way to get strong yields but these properties are, generally speaking, labour intensive (more maintenance, rent collection etc).

Default Milton Keynes

Yes, Milton Keynes and areas close to it (Luton, Northampton, Hemel Hempstead etc) are all good places and will grow in the long term. From what I understand, they are planning high speed rail links into central london from these areas which will appeal to many people who have already been outpriced of the capital.

Hi! Here's model of a beachfront hotel unit investment opportunity. You may visit the blogspot of nadanaboracay (nadanaboracay dot blogspot dot com / nadanaboracay dot com) for details. This hotel, however, is located in Asia -- Boracay, Philippines.
