Koh Phangan - A Tropical Island Getaway in Thailand

The Province of Surat Thani in Thailand is home to some of the most attractive islands in the whole of Thailand. It is becoming a popular choice for people to go to during their vacation. Located on Thailand’s Southern gulf, Koh Phangan is one of the best places to choose if you’re going on vacation. It’s truly a wonderful place, featuring many natural wonders, a dash of Thai history, coupled with modern facilities that can make your stay truly comfortable and a true getaway.

Location and Geography

The total land area of the island of Koh Phangan is small, having less than one hundred seventy square kilometers, though it’s packed with natural features in its tropical setting. Offshore, sand bars surround the island and are refuted to protect the main island from damage brought about by monsoons. There are also smaller islets that you can access via island hopping and speed boat services.

Historically, the island, along with its other sister islands, have been inhabited by nomadic fishermen who eventually settled in the area around two thousand years ago. Muslim Gypsies are the group that archeologists believe first landed and settled on the island. Nowadays however, there are three sub districts under Koh Phangan, itself a district of Surat Thani the province. The island became a full-fledged district in 1977.

What to see in the island

Koh Phangan has a lot to offer to its visitors, not least of which are the scenic surroundings of the island. This has brought tourism up to a far higher level during the past twenty years, and indeed it’s always been one of the highlights of Thailand in modern times. The pristine ecological background of the city would satisfy the most hardcore backpacking enthusiast getting around the island. Accommodations, food, activities, it can be had in this island for a fraction of the cost of other island destinations.

A full moon party is also held in the island every month, and visitors are welcome to join the many festivities around the island so that they too can experience the party atmosphere that Koh Phangan has to offer. At the other end of the scale, resting in Koh Phangan’s beaches would be a pleasure, as the island’s beaches afford plenty of space for privacy.

Having vacations in Koh Phangan is an easy time for most, because of the wide availability of western-style hotels situated in Koh Phangan. The amenities available in the hotels in the island are of the same standard as other hotels in the mainland, and you can take your family along with you, as the hotels here are child-friendly and ever ready to accommodate your children. Activities are also available for everybody in the family to enjoy. Of course, if you don’t want to spoil the exotic getaway atmosphere, you can rent your own bungalow in the island and live your exotic vacation.

Local Attractions

From mild to wild, it’s all here, and you can take your pick of what you want from the various activities being offered here. A trek through a rainforest that has remained intact for all this time would be something everybody should try to experience the beauty of nature. Investing in Koh Phangan Properties

Thailand has always been a nice place to visit, as many have found out by themselves. It’s quickly becoming a vacation hotspot, and Koh Phangan is one of the many islands that have enjoyed the benefit of this rise in tourism. From bungalows to resort villas, plenty of developments are available for purchase for the vacation investor. You’ll have a nice time spending your vacation in one of these homes, while you have your money grow interest at rates far higher than any bank could ever give you had you let your money just stay there.

Investing in a property in Koh Phangan would be a good start to let your savings grow. It’s quickly becoming a tourist hotspot on the scale of larger islands in the country, and as tourism grows, the land prices in this island will continue to shoot up as well, and one couldn’t possibly stop that growth. Your capital investment could even grow to the tune of twenty five percent, which you couldn’t possibly find with whichever bank you go to. It’s not the real appeal, however, as the highlight of the whole island’s property scene would be that the growth afforded by these properties are sustained for years on end and not only because of some movie hype boosting the economy for a while. It’s the place you might want to invest in if you’re looking for a long-term investment that is worth its yield, though for a quick profit you could do short selling of properties offered at bargain prices. These properties might need to have a little work done on them to make them worth their value, though Thai labor is cheap and plentiful, and you can have the job finished in no time and at minimal cost.

Tangier, have always evoked a sense of romanticism on people.  It used to be populated with writers and beat poets looking for adventure and seeking inspiration on its busy shores. Tangiers is touted as the gateway to Africa.

Even though Tangier has a captivating history, it seems that holiday makers are more drawn to the city because of the promise of beautiful beaches and a languid day on the sand. During the 1920 to the 50’s, Tangier was the playground of the rich and famous seeking excitement, exhilaration, mystic, and respite from being taxed. Habitual visitors were Heiress Barbara Hutton, Tennessee Williams, and Truman Capote.

After Spain gave Tangiers back to Morocco its flair and duty-free status, as well as the crowd went with Spain.  Fortunately, British holiday makers are seeing that Tangier still has a lot of its old grandeur left.
