| A Mixture of the Cosmopolitan and the Quaint: Side |
|
Like most of Turkey’s pride, Side is a lovely coastal resort town situated on the Mediterranean. Located 15 km east of Antalya, it is the nearest resort community to the city center. Side is considered a pretty little town with chic shops, modern architecture and night bars that is a contrast to the ancient city ruins. Bordered by two beaches, encompassed by the azure waters of the Mediterranean on both sides, and bestowed with wonderful archeological finds- Side is prospering as one of the most well recognized holiday destination. Side is a perfect balance between nature and history, and should definitely not be missed as a vacation option. The Best Time to GoAs with most of Turkey’s holiday locales, the perfect time to visit Side is during late April until June and then October to November. Summer is also a nice time to visit, however weekends tend to get really overcrowded as locals flock to Side from other Turkish cities. A Historical LessonSide’s history dates back as far as the 6th century BC, and is one of the earliest settlements in the region of Anatolia. Side meaning pomegranate, was a major commercial municipality during the Hittite era. Being a coastal town means that Side was considered as a main port, and they had massive merchant fleets that carried goods to and from other Mediterranean and western cities. In the earlier days, Side was a pirate’s hideaway and a prominent slave market. So, it is a good thing that Side became a legitimate place of business later on. The town of Side is culturally rich, they have various; temples of Gods and Goddesses; an amphitheater; and roman baths. Investing on Side PropertiesWe all know that Britain is a buzz due to the recent real estate fallout, and about investing in foreign nations were the British pound is relatively strong. Turkey is a famous choice among experienced investors as well as up and rising financiers and Side is no different. What makes Side stand out is its proximity to the capital city of Antalya. It provides access to a cosmopolitan city as well as the lap of a leisurely life of a quaint town. It is true that vacations are totally exciting and were looking to go to some exotic destination after a year of hard work; but imagine this: how about owning a flat, a house, or a villa with a view (depending on which ones you can afford) and gaining profit at the same time. Having a second home, or a first one (for those who merely rent back in England) for a fraction of what it costs in England is a person’s dream. So, make your fantasy into a reality and purchase one? Side is the best place to invest in for a host of reasons which this article will expound on. Side has several property options which anybody can choose from. Surprising as it may seem but a flat that’s worth 100,000 pound back in London will be sold at not even half that amount in Side. The amenities and comfort are also comparable because developers build with the British and European market in mind. Side is a paradise of the sun and the sea, blessed with everything that nature has to offer, plus a few ancient ruins thrown in for good measure. Side offers most of everything with a slight change from life in England. The climate is wonderful, although the summers can be a little hot, but at least not humid. Surrounded by unspoilt beaches that stretch for 5,000 miles plus 300 days of wonderful weather; what more can a person want? Aside from having a life of “everyday is a holiday” the profit that a property investment in Side can really set a person up for life, the turkey real estate market is currently in an up trend and is not showing any signs of slowing down. Developments are undergoing in a massive scale because Turkey wishes to join the European Union. Joining the European Union entails substantial economic growth particularly for the real estate sector. Such trends were evident when Portugal, Greece, and Spain became a member of the European Union. Turkey is expecting to become a member in the following decade. It is a very wise choice indeed to recognize Side’s potential while Turkey is still working to the inception. A young market is the ripe choice for investing for numerous reasons. One being that prices are obviously way below that of those sold in other countries with access to the Mediterranean Sea. Next, since Turkey is trying to entice financiers to put in their money in towns such as Side, the government has given special mortgages for British Nationals of good credit standing. Third, the potential for growth is still relatively high because the market still has a long way to go. Purchasing a flat, a house, or a villa may also yield quite an amount. The property will then be self supporting. The maintenance and care will be taken from the rent proceeds and the left over treated as profit. The sub letting can be done at certain seasons of the year when the owner is not using his or her property. Furthermore it is rare to see young people of middle income owning or purchasing a house, or even a flat in London or in other British cities, because it is simply too expensive. The disparity in both the British and Turkish currencies is proving to be an advantage for young British people who wish to acquire their own place. They can always rent back home in England, and own a flat or house inside and have it rented during the off peak season. It’s like hitting three birds with one stone. They will have a place that’s really theirs, a vacation home plus extra profit. Many people are riding on the cart to investing in Turkey, so novice buyers must beware of unscrupulous people looking for easy money by preying on innocent buyers. So, get a real estate agent with good reputation and years of experience when it comes to Turkish properties. |

Agadir is more diverse than any other city in Morocco. It was built next to a catastrophe. 15,000 lives were lost during the 1961 earthquake. Even so, their architecture and culture is unlike any other country. Agadir was a favorite destination and continued to be so. This is because of the tourists that come and go, which made the city's streets wide. Hotels were put up near the city and the beach. Other people think that there is nothing special that is happening in Agadir, others are actually thinking otherwise. The streets of Agadir are very attractive and lively. This is why more people visit the region year after year. |
