Wake Up And Smell the Currency, it is for Real!

There is a very interesting post in the Brazilian section of the Property Community Forum which covers the subject of currency variations between the US dollar and the Brazilian Real. Many people may have missed the fact that the Brazilian currency has weakened substantially against both the US dollar and the British pound for instance. This may surprise many because both the American and British currencies have been under substantial pressure themselves over the last few months.

Potential World Cup cities in Brazil

The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has recently confirmed that 17 Brazilian cities are under consideration for the 12 host cities required for the 2014 World Cup to be held in the country. Traditionally there are only 10 cities able to partake in the World Cup but for Brazil 2014 this number has been expanded to 12 of the 17 put forward. There is intense speculation about some of the smaller cities and whether they will receive the "nod" from FIFA which could in some cases lead to a potential property bubble and substantial international interest.

Is it time to crack the Natal property market?Over the last few years the change in the outlook for the Brazilian economy has been nothing short of remarkable. The country was for many years regarded as something of a basket case in South America due to high inflation, high borrowing and the fact that the country teethed on the brink of bankruptcy on more than one occasion. However in the late 1990s we saw a major shift in power in the country and the introduction of a number of serious changes to the economy, regulations and political scene.

These changes have helped to put Brazil back on the map and with more and more property investors looking to the region many are asking if it is time to have a "crack" at the Brazilian property market?
