Tenants in Dubai are benefiting for a 4 to 8% reduction in rent as more residential property comes onto the market in the emirate, according to a new report.
And the owners of real estate, although not yet seeing a recovery in prices, can take heart from the fact that sales prices are level, according to a new report from Astecto Property Management.

Residential property prices are still falling in Dubai, and were down an average of 1.23% in May, according to the latest real estate index to be published.
The Reidin Index shows that apartment prices dropped 2.88% in May compared with April while villa prices were down 0.63%. It is a new real estate index launched in partnership with the emirate's property regulator RERA.

The first public auction of repossessed properties in Dubai is due to take place next month and officials are also clamping down on illegally occupied buildings.
Dubai's Land Department has begun evaluating repossessed properties ready for the first auction of its kind in the emirate where real estate prices have fallen by up to 50%.
